Arsenal have endured a season under the radar as for the first time in two decades the shadow of Arsene Wenger was not casting over the team. Unai Emery is considered a great tactician but he is not the most flamboyant of managers.
Arsene Wenger has some credit too as he left behind two of the best strikers in the league for Unai Emery to build on. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazzette are a far cry of the days of Niklas Bendtner playing upfront for the Gunners.
Both players have been able to develop a good relationship on and off the pitch which has been beneficial to the team. Aubameyang is a deadly poacher while Lacazzette provides the all-round game necessary for the team to hold the ball in opposing defences.
Arsenal would need to spend in the wide positions of the attack as Alex Iwobi and Henrick Mkhitaryan have not been consistent enough this season. Renne wide man IsmailaSarr could prove to be a good addition as he boasts of pace and power in the final third.
The midfield also needs reinforcements as a result of the impending departure of Aaron Ramsey. The Welsh international would be missed for his energy and ability to score in vital moments. Sevilla ace Ever Banega has been linked as a possible replacement.
The defence is the major problem for the Gunners and needs massive surgery. Koscielny is old and injury prone, Monreal is expected to leave while Litchsteiner is way past it at the top level. Emery would have to bring in atleast three new players in the backline ahead of next season.
